KIA offers a National Certificate: Engineering Studies.

The process of Mechanical Engineering programme includes the planning and designing of these structures, as well as operating and maintaining them. Mechanical Engineers use an understanding of core concepts such as kinetics and thermodynamics (application of heat and mechanical power) to create and analyse a wide variety of machines and processes.

Admission Requirements
N1 National Certificate/Grade 9/Senior Certificate/NSC (Maths or Maths Literacy required).
Duration
FULL-TIME DURATION
Minimum 2 Years and 6 Months, plus 2 years inservice training.

PART-TIME DURATION
Maximum 4 Years and 2 years inservice training.
Certification
• Certificates are awarded by the Department of Higher Education and Training.
• All qualifications are nationally recognised by industry and universities.
Upon successful completion of this programme, learners will receive a:
• National Certificate at each level N2, N3, N4, N5, N6

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS:

A senior certificate or an appropriate National Certificate (N3), or a National Senior Certificate, or an equivalent qualification.

DURATION: 6 Months per Certificate.
